Daily Google Calendar agenda on Telegram: free n8n workflow template

By the serverserv team · 3 min read · Updated

Start each workday with your agenda on your phone. At 7:30 on weekdays this workflow reads today's events from Google Calendar and sends you a tidy list on Telegram, with times, titles and locations.

How the workflow is wired, from the trigger at the top.

How it works

  1. Weekday mornings runs at 7:30, Monday to Friday, in your n8n time zone.
  2. Today's events reads every event from the start to the end of today, with recurring events expanded and sorted by time.
  3. Format agenda turns them into one message, marks all-day events and handles days with nothing booked.
  4. Send agenda sends it to your Telegram chat.

Nodes used: Schedule Trigger, Google Calendar, Code, Telegram.

What you need

  • A Google account with Google Calendar
  • A Telegram bot token from @BotFather and your chat ID

Set it up

  1. Import the workflow and connect Google Calendar in Today's events. Pick the calendar to read.
  2. Add your Telegram credential and chat ID in Send agenda.
  3. Check your n8n time zone (Settings, or the workflow's settings) so 7:30 means your 7:30.
  4. Run it once by hand, then activate it.

New to importing? In n8n, open a new workflow, then either paste the copied JSON onto the canvas or use the menu (the three dots) and choose Import from file. Credentials are never included, so you connect your own accounts after importing.

Ways to customise it

  • Read several calendars by copying the calendar node and merging the results.
  • Ask an AI model to add a one-line plan for the day.
  • Send it by email or Slack instead of Telegram.

Security notes

Calendar entries can be private. Send the agenda only to your own chat, and use a bot nobody else can add to groups.

Where to run it

Templates with webhooks or triggers need n8n running all the time and reachable over HTTPS. You can run n8n on your own computer to try it, but for real use it belongs on a server. serverserv n8n Hosting gives you n8n pre-installed on your own KVM server with HTTPS, from $14.99 a month with no execution limits, and we will set up your first workflow for you, this one included.

Questions

Can it include tomorrow's events too?

Yes. Change the end time in Today's events to the end of tomorrow, for example $now.plus({ days: 1 }).endOf('day').

Why are the times wrong?

Usually the n8n time zone. Set it in the workflow's settings or with the GENERIC_TIMEZONE variable on your server.

Is this n8n template free to use?

Yes. It is free under the MIT licence, for personal and business use. You need your own n8n instance and your own accounts for the connected apps.
