Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every serverserv service and to everyone who uses them: our customers and their users, staff, clients and software, including AI agents and automations. It protects our network, our customers and the wider internet. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it can lead to suspension or termination of your service without refund.
1. Illegal and harmful content
Do not use our services to store, send, link to or promote:
- anything illegal in your country, in Canada, or where your users are;
- child sexual abuse material. We remove it, terminate the service and report it to the authorities;
- intimate images shared without consent;
- material that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights (see our Copyright Policy);
- harassment, threats, incitement to violence, terrorist content, or content promoting hatred against people because of who they are;
- fraud, scams, fake shops, pyramid schemes or the sale of illegal goods;
- other people's personal data obtained or published without a lawful basis.
2. Security and network abuse
- No phishing, malware, ransomware, botnets or command-and-control servers.
- No attacks on other systems: denial of service, port scanning or vulnerability scanning of systems you do not own or have permission to test, brute-force logins, or breaking into systems.
- No open proxies, open mail relays or open DNS resolvers. No VPN or proxy services used to hide abuse.
- No forged packet headers, IP spoofing, or use of IP addresses that were not assigned to you.
- No attempts to get around limits, billing or security on our own systems.
3. Email and anti-spam rules
This applies to web hosting mailboxes, business email, and email sent from any VPS, Windows RDP, OpenClaw or n8n server.
- Send bulk or marketing email only to people who asked to receive it, and keep proof of their consent.
- Every marketing message must say who sent it and have a working unsubscribe link. Act on unsubscribe requests promptly. Follow the anti-spam laws where your recipients live, such as CAN-SPAM in the US, CASL in Canada and the e-privacy rules in the EU and UK.
- Do not use bought, rented, scraped or harvested lists. Do not forge headers or hide the sender.
- Do not host websites advertised by spam, wherever the spam was sent from.
- Outgoing email limit on web hosting and business email: 250 messages per mailbox per hour and 1,000 per day. Use a dedicated bulk email service for newsletters and large campaigns.
- Outgoing port 25 on VPS: blocked on new VPS and opened on request after a short review.
- If our IP addresses are blocklisted because of email from your service, we may block outgoing mail until the cause is fixed, and charge you reasonable costs of getting them removed from blocklists.
4. Fair use of resources
Web hosting and "unlimited websites"
On plans that include unlimited websites, we do not cap how many websites you add. All of them share the storage, CPU, memory and other resources of your plan: the CPU, memory, process and file limits set for your plan, shown in cPanel under Resource Usage. Web hosting is for websites and their email. It must not be used as a file store, backup archive, media streaming service or download mirror. If a site uses so much CPU, memory or disk activity that it affects other customers, we will ask you to reduce usage or move to a larger plan, and may limit the site in the meantime.
VPS, Windows RDP, OpenClaw and n8n servers
The vCPU, RAM and storage of your plan are yours to use. Each plan includes a monthly bandwidth allowance, shown on the plan, counted per calendar month. When a server uses its full allowance: we slow the port speed until the next calendar month starts; you can open a ticket to buy more bandwidth instead. If a workload harms the hardware or other customers on the same host, for example by sustained heavy disk activity, we will contact you and may limit the server until it is fixed.
Cryptocurrency mining
Mining or farming cryptocurrency (including proof-of-space and proof-of-storage coins) is not allowed on any service, except with our written approval.
5. AI agents and automation
On OpenClaw, n8n and any other server, you are responsible for what your agents, bots, scripts and workflows do, as if you had done it yourself.
- Your agents and workflows must follow this policy. They must not send spam, post abuse, scrape websites against their terms or overload them, create fake accounts, or try passwords on other services.
- Follow the terms of the AI providers, APIs and platforms your agents use, including their usage policies.
- Protect dashboards and control panels with strong passwords and, where possible, two-factor authentication or a private network. Do not leave an agent gateway or n8n editor open to the internet without authentication.
- Keep API keys, tokens and credentials secret. You pay for any usage of your AI provider accounts.
- Only install skills, plugins and community nodes you trust; they run with the same access as your agent.
6. Keeping your service secure
Keep your software, plugins and operating system up to date, use strong unique passwords and remove accounts you no longer need. On unmanaged VPS and Windows RDP, server security is your responsibility. If your service is compromised and used for abuse, we may suspend it or block network traffic until it is cleaned. We may help you, but restoring a hacked service is your responsibility unless your plan says otherwise.
7. Your users
If you let others use your service, for example as a reseller, agency or with shared logins, you are responsible for what they do and must make sure they follow this policy.
8. How we enforce this policy
- We investigate reports and problems we find ourselves. We do not monitor the content of your services as a matter of routine.
- For most problems we contact you first and give you time to fix it, usually 24 hours.
- For serious or ongoing harm, such as attacks, malware, phishing, spam runs or child sexual abuse material, we may act at once without notice: block traffic, null-route an IP address, remove content or suspend the service.
- Repeated or serious breaches can lead to termination without refund.
- We tell you what we did and why, unless the law or an investigation prevents it. You can ask us to review the decision by replying or opening a ticket.
- We cooperate with law enforcement as described in our Law Enforcement Guidelines, and report suspected crimes that threaten someone's life or safety to the authorities.
9. Reporting abuse
To report abuse from a serverserv IP address, website or domain, email [email protected]. What to include and what happens next is in our Abuse Policy. Copyright complaints follow our Copyright Policy.
