Why traders run MetaTrader on a VPS
An expert advisor only trades while its terminal is open. On a home computer that means the machine has to stay on, awake and online all day and all night, five days a week. One Windows update, power cut or router restart can close a position late or miss an entry.
A forex VPS moves the terminal to a server in a data centre, with backup power and a fixed internet connection. You set it up once by Remote Desktop, close the window, and the terminals keep running. You can check in from your phone and turn your own computer off.

How many MT4 or MT5 terminals fit on each plan?
Plan on 150 to 300 MB of RAM for a typical MT4 terminal and 300 to 600 MB for MT5, plus about 2 GB for Windows Server itself. These are planning estimates, not benchmarks: many charts, long history and heavy indicators use more.

Will a forex VPS lower my latency?
Only when the server is close, in network terms, to your broker's trade server. Every 1,000 km between the two adds roughly 10 ms to each round trip, so a VPS on the wrong continent can be slower than your home connection.
Our servers run in North American data centres. That suits brokers whose trade servers are in North America. If your broker's servers are in London or elsewhere in Europe, a North American VPS still gives you uptime, but not lower latency. Open a ticket with your broker's name and the trade server shown in your terminal, and we will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit before you pay.
Set up MT4 or MT5 on your forex VPS
- Connect by Remote Desktop with the IP, username and password from your welcome email, then change the password.
- Install all Windows updates and restart once.
- Download MT4 or MT5 from your broker and install each copy in its own folder.
- Sign in, attach your expert advisors and switch on AutoTrading (MT4) or Algo Trading (MT5).
- Close the Remote Desktop window. Do not sign out, or the terminals will close.

Is the Windows Server licence included?
Yes. Every plan includes the Windows Server licence in the price, on monthly billing and on 1, 2 and 3-year terms.
Can I run expert advisors and trading bots?
Yes. You get administrator access, so you can install MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader or NinjaTrader, plus any expert advisor, indicator or bot. They keep running after you close Remote Desktop.
Which brokers does it work with?
Any broker that offers MT4, MT5 or another Windows trading platform. Download the terminal from your broker, sign in and attach your expert advisors.
Will a forex VPS lower my latency?
Only if the server is close to your broker's trade server. Our servers run in North American data centres. Before you order, open a ticket with your broker's trade server name and we will tell you honestly whether it is a good fit.
What happens when Windows needs an update?
You choose when updates install. Most traders set Windows Update to manual and install updates at the weekend, when forex markets are closed.
Can I cancel if it does not suit me?
