Best OpenClaw hosting in 2026: 6 options compared on price and setup

By the serverserv team · 7 min read · Updated

OpenClaw needs a computer that stays on, so most people run it on a server. You can pay for a fully managed OpenClaw service, a VPS with OpenClaw pre-installed, or a plain VPS you set up yourself. Prices run from about $5 to $24 a month for the server, plus what you pay your AI model provider. This guide compares six options side by side, including the price after the first term, and says who each one suits.

Best OpenClaw hosting at a glance

Here are the six options, with the closest plan to a daily personal setup of 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM where the provider lists specs.

How we compared

For one person using a cloud model and a few chat channels, 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM is a comfortable size, so we picked the plan closest to that at each provider. We compared the monthly price, the price after any intro offer ends, how much server access you get, and how much setup you do yourself. serverserv is one of the options, and we say where others are cheaper.

The 6 options in detail

serverserv: OpenClaw pre-installed on your own server

serverserv installs OpenClaw on your own KVM VPS. You add your model provider, such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or OpenRouter, and pair your chat apps. You keep full access to the server, so you can add browser automation, more agents or other tools later. There's no renewal price jump: you renew each term at the price you paid (If a price ever has to change, we'll email you at least 30 days before), and you can pay monthly with no upfront commitment. Plans go from 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM up to 18 vCPU and 96 GB RAM.

The honest trade-off: Hostinger's managed plan is cheaper over two or three years if you can pay upfront and do not need server access.

Best for: people and teams who want an always-on agent on a server they control, without a price jump at renewal.

Hostinger 1-click OpenClaw: cheapest managed option

Hostinger's managed OpenClaw plan is $4.99 a month at the intro price, paid upfront, and renews at $11.99 a month. Hostinger handles security, updates and backups, and the plan comes with some AI credits and Telegram pairing set up. It does not list the server specs, and you top up AI credits through Hostinger's dashboard.

Best for: one person who wants the lowest price and no server work, and can pay for the term upfront.

Hostinger VPS: lots of RAM for the intro price

Hostinger also offers an OpenClaw template on its KVM VPS plans. KVM 2 gives 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 100 GB NVMe for $8.79 a month at the intro price, paid upfront, and renews at $14.99. After the template installs OpenClaw, you look after updates, security and backups yourself.

Best for: people comfortable with Linux who want room for browser automation at the intro price.

xCloud: managed, with a low first term

xCloud runs OpenClaw for you on a choice of VPS sizes. It is $9.99 a month for the first term, then $19.99. Per-size specs are not listed on the comparison page we checked.

Best for: people who want managed OpenClaw and plan to try it for a while before committing.

ClawHosters: managed OpenClaw in Germany

ClawHosters runs managed OpenClaw on German VPS servers. Its Budget plan is 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 40 GB SSD for €19 a month, with larger plans at €35 and €59.

Best for: European users who want their agent hosted in the EU and fully managed.

DigitalOcean: 1-Click app, more work for you

DigitalOcean has a 1-Click OpenClaw image that runs from its $12 a month Droplet tier, which DigitalOcean describes as suited to testing. A Droplet with 4 GB RAM costs about $24 a month. After the image is running, updates, security and backups are yours to handle.

Best for: developers who already use DigitalOcean.

What does OpenClaw hosting cost over 3 years?

Over three years, the renewal price matters as much as the first bill. These totals are for the server or plan only, not your AI model usage.

OptionHow the 3 years are billed3-year total
Hostinger 1-click OpenClaw24 months at $4.99, then 12 months at $11.99About $264
Hostinger KVM 224 months at $8.79, then 12 months at $14.99About $391
serverserv OpenClaw StarterOne 3-year term at $10.99 a month$395.64
ClawHosters Budget€19 a monthAbout €684
DigitalOcean, 4 GB RAMAbout $24 a monthAbout $864, before backups

xCloud is left out because the length of its first term is not published on the page we checked. The Hostinger totals assume a 24-month intro term and renewal at the listed price; the actual renewal price depends on the term you pick. Paying monthly costs more everywhere: serverserv OpenClaw Starter on monthly billing is $14.99 a month, or $539.64 over three years, with no upfront payment.

What to look for in OpenClaw hosting

  • RAM for what you plan to do: 4 GB suits one person with a cloud model. Browser automation needs about 2 GB per headless browser, so plan for 8 GB, and a local model needs 16 GB or more. Our guide to OpenClaw VPS requirements has the details.
  • Model costs: the server is often the smaller bill. Check whether a plan includes AI credits, what top-ups cost, or whether you bring your own API key.
  • Server access: managed plans are easier, but a VPS lets you add tools, more agents or a local model later.
  • The price after the first term: intro prices often renew at about twice the price. Read the "renews at" line.
  • Security: your agent can read your messages and act for you. Keep the server updated, use strong logins and pair only the chat apps you need.

Which OpenClaw hosting should you choose?

  • You want the lowest price and no server work, and can pay upfront: Hostinger 1-click OpenClaw.
  • You want your own server with OpenClaw set up, at a price that does not jump: serverserv OpenClaw hosting.
  • You are comfortable with Linux and want 8 GB RAM for browser automation: Hostinger KVM 2 or a larger serverserv plan.
  • You want your agent hosted in the EU and fully managed: ClawHosters.
  • Your other services already run there: DigitalOcean.

Questions

What is the best OpenClaw hosting?

It depends on how much control you want. A managed plan such as Hostinger 1-click OpenClaw is cheapest with no server work. For your own server with OpenClaw set up and no renewal price jump, serverserv OpenClaw Starter is $14.99 a month.

How much does it cost to host OpenClaw?

The server or plan costs about $5 to $24 a month for one person. Your AI model provider bills separately, unless your plan includes credits.

Can I run OpenClaw on my own computer?

Yes, but the agent only works while that computer is on and online. A server keeps it running around the clock, so scheduled tasks and messages are handled while your own computer is off.

How much RAM does OpenClaw need?

OpenClaw's minimum is 1 GB, with 2 GB or more recommended. For daily personal use, plan on 4 GB, and 8 GB or more for browser automation.

Is managed OpenClaw better than a VPS?

Managed OpenClaw is easier because the provider handles updates and security. A VPS gives you full access to add tools, more agents or a local model, and usually more RAM for the price.
